Democracy Discourse Fellows Named

Democracy Discourse Series (DDS) announces some of the twelve public intellectuals whose projects will be supported by the DDS Grant for the period of 2019 to 2021.

The fellows from the Philippines include actress Mae Paner, TV anchor Christian Esguerra, photographer Raffy Lerma, performance-maker Alon Segarra. Meanwhile, the Malaysian public intellectuals are: director Jo Kukathas, youth activist Qyira Yusri, illustrator Charis Loke, LGBT organizer Ryan Ong, academic Gayathry Venkistewaran and journalist Tina Carmillia. 

The fellows will be working on artistic, journalistic, and literary projects that seek to redefine democracy in Southeast Asia. To know more about the fellows and their work, please visit: https://www.democracydiscourse.org/fellows/.
